Flipdish alternatives: cost, fees and other options

Flipdish starts from €119 or £119 a month on a yearly term, card rate not published. What it costs, its 12-month terms and the alternatives by need.

A venue's page on a phone: order for pickup, book a table, see the menu

Flipdish sells online ordering, a branded website and app, a POS and kiosks to restaurants and takeaways, with editions for Ireland, the UK, Spain and the US. As of October 2026 its POS and online ordering bundle starts from €119 a month in Ireland and £119 in the UK, per site, on a yearly term; the card rate and most add-ons are priced on request. The right alternative depends on what you use Flipdish for: delivery and your own app, takeaway by your own link, or orders from the table.

What Flipdish costs

From Flipdish’s own pricing pages, read on 12 October 2026, all prices excluding VAT:

  • Essential Package (POS and online ordering): from €119 a month in Ireland, billed annually, per site, or €139 billed monthly. In the UK the same package is from £119, or £139 monthly. It includes the branded website and apps, online ordering, the Flipdish POS, CRM, automated marketing and payroll.
  • Website only (Ireland): from €49 a month billed annually, €69 monthly. With a branded mobile app: from €79, or €99 monthly.
  • Kiosk software (Ireland): from €59 a month billed annually, €79 monthly. Hardware is priced separately.
  • Add-ons with no published price: QR code order and pay, the kitchen display system, managed marketing.
  • Card processing: “Flipdish handles all debit and credit card processing for our customers.” The page says the rates are “transparent” but prints no figure.
  • Hardware and set-up: “There may be upfront costs for Flipdish hardware and implementation.”

So the published part of a Flipdish bill is the package. The card rate, which on a busy month can be the larger number, is the one to get in writing before you sign.

The 12-month terms

Flipdish’s terms and conditions say the agreement “continues for 12 months” and then “auto-renews for 12-month periods” unless you give written notice “at least 3 months before the end” of the term. The same terms say fees “may be varied by us at any time (acting reasonably)”.

If you are switching away, the date that matters is three months before your renewal. Put it in your calendar the day you sign, with any supplier.

Volio 30 days of Pro free, then a plan: see the plans and prices The venue's own provider Not published Volio's plans

From the Ordering System Price Index: each figure as the vendor’s own page printed it, in its currency, on the day shown. “Not published” means no figure was found on the pages read.

Each of these covers a different part of what Flipdish does. None covers all of it.

If you deliver and want your own app. This is where Flipdish is strongest. Storekit, which prices in pounds, starts free for pickup and delivery from your own site and charges a flat rate per order that its pricing page does not print; QR order and pay comes on its Pro plan. GloriaFood did this for free but reaches end of life on 30 April 2027: what to move before then.

Flipdish vs Square. Square sells its own till and card machines with published card rates; Flipdish sells ordering first, with a POS in the bundle. In the UK, Square for Restaurants has a free plan and Plus at £69 a month per location. Square sells QR code ordering too (its US page puts it on Plus and Premium), so if you already take cards on Square, ask for it on your plan first.

Flipdish vs Toast. Toast is a POS that runs on approved Toast hardware, with ordering as add-ons. Its UK plans start from £80 a month. Flipdish’s POS runs on Android, iOS and Windows and “may even work with hardware you already own”. The longer comparison is in Toast alternatives in the UK and Ireland.

If you run a SumUp till. SumUp’s Order & Pay is £39 a month in the UK with a 2.50% transaction fee, and €49 a month in Ireland with 1.69%.

If guests order at the table and collect, but you don’t deliver. That is the part Volio covers: a QR menu, orders and payments from the table, and pickup orders from one link. Volio does no delivery.

What Flipdish does better

  • Delivery. Driver tracking, third-party driver fleets, Uber Direct, and Just Eat and Uber Eats orders in one place. Volio does no delivery at all.
  • A branded app and website for each restaurant. Volio gives each venue one page, in the browser.
  • Its own hardware: handheld POS with built-in payments and printer, kiosks, kitchen screens. Volio sells no hardware.
  • Marketing it runs for you: managed Google Ads and SMS campaigns, and a phone redirect that texts callers a link.
  • A named account manager, with phone, WhatsApp and email support, and years of restaurants on it. Volio is new: it launched in October 2026.

If most of your orders arrive by delivery, Flipdish or another delivery-first system is the better answer.

Where Volio fits

Volio is for venues whose orders come from the table and the counter. Guests scan, order from several phones at one table and pay their own part; takeaway orders come from one link with a pickup time. The POS, waiter mode and the kitchen display run in the browser on devices you already own.

Every plan starts with 30 days of Pro, free, and a venue that cancels keeps its QR menu online, free: see the plans and prices. Volio takes a small fee on a bill paid by phone. Guests see it before they pay, or you switch to covering it. Nothing is taken when a guest pays cash or the waiter. Payments go to your own account with the payment provider, and you can cancel any time.

Volio launched in October 2026.
