Table QR code generator: a numbered code for every table
Type the link your codes should open, name your tables, stools or sunbeds, and print a sheet with one code per place and its number printed large. For restaurants, bars, cafés and beach bars. It runs in your browser: nothing is uploaded and there's nothing to sign up for.
How it works
What's in each code
The link you type, and nothing else. These are static codes: no address of ours sits in between, so they can't expire or be switched off, and a scan goes straight to your page. Tidy links make smaller patterns, so drop tracking tags you don't need.
How big, and the white around it
Every label prints the code's dark square at 4 cm or more, the size our guide to QR codes for restaurant tables gives for a code on the table. Around it stays a margin four modules wide, because DENSO WAVE, the code's maker, says "QR Code requires a four-module wide margin at all sides of a symbol". Print at 100%: the scan test page has a 50 mm bar to check with a ruler.
Error correction
A code repeats part of itself so a smudged one still reads. DENSO WAVE: "Typically, Level M (15%) is most frequently selected", and "Level Q or H may be selected for factory environment where QR Code get dirty". A table wiped all evening gets the same treatment here, so Q (25%) is set. A higher level packs in more modules, so give it more room.
Numbering a beach or a bar
Each zone row is a name and a range: Terrace 1 to 12, Stool 1 to 14, Beach A1 to A30. Letters in front are kept, and so is zero padding (01 to 12). A single number, or a word like VIP, is one place. The name prints small, the number large, so it reads from across the room.
Table tents
A tent prints unfolded: two faces with the fold line between them, the top one upside down so both read the right way up once folded. Print on card, cut along the outline, fold on the dashed line. A sticker sheet has nine to a page, a card one.
Before you print forty
The scan test page lists the checks: two phones, one of them old; evening light and a lamp's glare; a wet cloth; mobile data at your worst table. With a link per place, check that table 7's code opens table 7.

Volio
When a code should take the order
On Volio, every plan starts with 30 days of Pro, free, and a venue that cancels keeps its QR menu online, free. With a plan, every table, stool or sunbed is a place with its own code, and an order arrives with its place's number.
How QR ordering worksQuestions owners ask
Something else? hello@usevolio.com
Are these QR codes really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark, no trial. One sheet makes up to 500 codes; for more, make a second sheet.
Will the codes stop working?
Not on their own. Each code holds your link itself, so nothing sits in between to expire or be switched off. They work for as long as your link does. If your menu's address changes, print new ones.
Can I use my own menu link, not Volio's?
Yes, any web address: your website, a PDF of your menu, another ordering system. The tool never changes the link you type.
Does the number tell the system which table scanned?
Only if the link carries it. With one link on every code, the number is for guests and staff to read. If your ordering system gives each table its own address, put {n} in the link where the number goes and every code opens its own.
How do I get a PDF?
Press Print or save as PDF, then pick Save as PDF as the printer. Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox all have it. Keep the scale at 100% (Actual size) so the codes come out at the size shown.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The codes are drawn on your phone or computer. The link, the names and the sheet never leave your browser.
Want each code to know its table?
On Volio every place gets its own code and the order arrives with its number.
