Let guests scan, split and pay at the table

See how it works

Volio is QR pay at the table for restaurants, bars, cafés and beach clubs. Guests scan the code on their table, see the bill and pay their own part or the whole of it on their own phone, with a tip if they like, by Apple Pay, Google Pay or card. There's no app to download.

The demo venue's floor plan: table 6 seated for 54 minutes, with its bill's total, paid and left
Paying at table 12 on a phone: everything left, €26.70, tip buttons of 5, 10 and 15 percent, and a Pay button
Real screens from Volio's demo venues. A table on the floor plan with what's paid and what's left, and a guest paying what's left on their phone.

From the code to the paid bill

How pay at the table works

Nobody waits for the bill, then for the card machine. The code on the table opens the table's bill on each guest's phone, and each guest pays when they're ready to go.

Step 1

One code on every table

Draw the room once in Tables & QR. A table, a stool at the bar or a sunbed is a numbered place with its own code, so the bill it opens is that place's.

Step 2

The guest sees the bill and picks what to pay

The code opens in the phone's browser. Each guest pays their own part, or one of them pays everything that's left, with a tip before paying.

Step 3

Your team sees what's paid

On the orders board, each order is marked paid or not. On the floor plan, each table shows its total, what's paid and what's left.

With your waiters, and with your till

Paying by phone is one more way to pay. It works beside the ones you have, and here is exactly how far it goes.

  • Orders a waiter took

Orders taken in waiter mode or on Volio's POS go on the same table's bill, so a guest can pay by phone for a round they didn't order by phone.

  • With another company's till

There is no automatic link to it. "Paid at the table" lists each phone payment with its table, amount and time, and your team enters it on the till.

  • Cash and your card terminal

A guest who'd rather pay cash or hand a card to the waiter still does. Volio takes nothing when a guest pays cash or the waiter.

What your team sees

A payment from a phone shows up where your team already looks, on screens you already own.

Before you switch it on

Pay at the table comes with ordering at the table, and you can start with the menu alone.

  • A menu is enough to start

Leave ordering off and the code shows just the menu, in each guest's language. Every plan starts with 30 days of Pro, free.

  • Guests can order from the code too

The same code takes the order, so the second round doesn't wait for a waiter either.

Every plan starts with 30 days of Pro, free.

How do you want to pay?

Questions owners ask

Something else? hello@usevolio.com

How does QR pay at the table work?

Guests scan the code on their table, the bill opens in the phone's browser, and each guest pays their own part or the whole bill with Apple Pay, Google Pay or card. A tip can be added before paying.

Do guests need an app?

No. The code opens in the phone's browser. There's nothing to download.

Can a table split the bill?

Yes. Each guest pays their own part on their own phone, or one guest pays everything that's left. The floor shows your team what's paid and what's left on the table.

Can guests pay for orders a waiter took?

Yes, when the waiter takes them in Volio's waiter mode or on Volio's POS: those orders go on the same table's bill, and a guest can pay it by phone.

Does it connect to my till?

Not automatically. If you keep another company's till, "Paid at the table" lists each phone payment with its table, amount and time, and your team enters it on the till. Or let Volio's POS replace the till.

Can I choose the tip amounts?

Yes. You set the tip buttons guests see, as percentages. The tip is added before paying.

Where does the money go?

Straight to your own account with the payment provider, then to your bank. Volio takes a small fee on a bill paid by phone, which guests see before they pay, or you switch to covering it.

When can I start?

Today. Pick a plan and your first 30 days are Pro, free. A card is needed, and you can cancel any time.
